Cookie Policy
Final website publication copy | Last updated: 6 September 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Zaartec Ltd uses cookies and similar storage/access technologies on zaartec.com, what they do, and how you can control your choices. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files stored on or accessed from your device. Websites can also use similar technologies such as local storage, software development tools, pixels or tags. These technologies can keep a website working, remember choices, protect sessions, understand how a service is used and, where permitted, measure or support advertising.
2. The UK rules that apply
UK rules regulate when information may be stored on or accessed from your device. Some technologies may be used without consent where a specific legal exception applies, for example where they are strictly necessary to provide a service you request. Other non-exempt technologies require a valid choice before they are activated.
Where an applicable exception requires us to provide a simple and free way to object, we will provide that control. Where consent is required, we will not intentionally activate the relevant non-exempt technology until you have made a valid choice.
3. How Zaartec uses storage/access technologies
- To keep login, account, basket and checkout functions working;
- To protect the website, customer accounts and transactions against misuse or fraud;
- To remember choices or preferences where appropriate;
- To collect limited statistical information to understand and improve our website where legally permitted;
- To measure website performance and conversions where the applicable consent or exception requirements are met; and
- To measure or support advertising only where the required consent has been obtained.
4. Cookie / technology categories
| Category | Typical purpose | How choices work |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Security, login/session, basket, checkout, fraud prevention, load balancing and storing your privacy choices. | Consent is not normally required when the technology is strictly necessary for a service you request. |
| Functional / appearance | Remember optional preferences or adapt how the website appears or functions. | May be covered by a legal exception if all conditions are met, including any required simple/free objection; otherwise consent is requested. |
| Analytics / statistics | Understand how the website is used and improve performance, navigation and content. | May be covered by the UK statistical-purpose exception only where all conditions are met. Otherwise consent is requested. |
| Marketing / advertising | Measure campaigns, create advertising audiences, attribute conversions or support personalised/relevant advertising. | Consent is required unless a specific lawful exception applies. Zaartec does not treat general advertising tracking as strictly necessary. |
| Payments / security providers | Support secure payment processing, fraud prevention and transaction security during checkout. | Some may be strictly necessary for the requested payment/security service; others are handled according to their purpose and applicable rules. |
5. Analytics and the statistical-purpose exception
UK law allows a limited exception for storage/access technologies used solely to collect statistical information about use of a website or service with a view to improving it, provided the legal conditions are met. Those conditions include giving clear information and a simple, free means to object. The information must not be repurposed for advertising, profiling or other incompatible purposes.
Where our analytics configuration does not clearly meet all requirements of an applicable exception, we treat it as optional and request consent before activation.
6. Marketing and advertising technologies
Marketing and advertising technologies may be used to measure campaigns, understand conversions or support advertising. These are not necessary to buy products from Zaartec. Where consent is required, they remain disabled unless you choose to allow them. Rejecting them does not prevent you from using the main shopping, account and checkout functions of the website.
7. Third-party technologies
Some functions may involve third-party providers, for example payment processing, analytics, advertising, security or embedded services. Depending on how a service is configured, those providers may store or access information on your device and may process personal information under their own privacy information. We aim to enable third-party technologies only in a way that matches the purpose, legal basis and choices described in this policy.
8. Current cookie list, providers and durations
The live Cookie Settings panel on Zaartec.com forms part of this Cookie Policy. It should show the current technologies in use, including their category, name (where available), provider, purpose and duration/expiry information. Because website features and third-party services can change, the live Cookie Settings panel is the most up-to-date source for the exact cookie/technology inventory.
Typical providers may include Zaartec/Odoo for core ecommerce functions, Stripe or another checkout provider for payment/security functions, and analytics or advertising providers only where those services are enabled. The presence of a provider in this policy does not mean every technology from that provider is active for every visitor.
9. Your choices when you first visit
Where consent is required for non-exempt technologies, our consent mechanism should give you clear and balanced choices. Depending on the technologies in use, you can:
- Accept optional technologies;
- Reject non-essential / non-exempt technologies; or
- Manage choices by purpose or category.
Refusing consent should be as easy as accepting it. Optional technologies that require consent should not be activated before you make a positive choice.
10. Changing your choice later
You can revisit Cookie Settings on the website to change or withdraw your choices. If we rely on a legal exception that requires a simple means of objecting, the relevant control should also be available there. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
11. Browser controls
Most browsers allow you to view, block or delete cookies. Browser settings differ, so use your browser help/privacy settings for instructions. Blocking strictly necessary technologies may prevent parts of the website, including login, basket or checkout, from working correctly.
12. How long cookies remain
Some technologies last only for the browser session; others remain for a defined period. The relevant duration or expiry is shown in the live Cookie Settings panel where available. We review our configuration periodically and aim not to retain information for longer than necessary for its stated purpose.
13. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when our website, technology providers or legal requirements change. The latest version will be published on the website with the updated date shown at the top.
